Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using FilmBase, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the software.

2. License Grant

Upon purchase, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use FilmBase on one (1) device for the duration of your selected license period.

  • Timed Licenses (7-Day, 30-Day, 90-Day, 1-Year) — grant access for the specified duration from the date of activation.
  • Perpetual License — grants lifetime access to the software with 2 years of free updates from the date of purchase.

3. License Restrictions

You may not:

  • Share, redistribute, sublicense, or resell your license key
  • Use a single license on more than one device at a time
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks

4. Activation & Device Binding

Each license key is bound to a single device upon activation. An internet connection is required for initial activation only. After activation, FilmBase operates fully offline. If you need to transfer your license to a new device, please contact support.

5. Payments & Refunds

All purchases are processed by Polar. All prices are in USD and are one-time payments — there are no recurring charges or subscriptions.

We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase if the software does not function as described. Please contact support with details of the issue.

6. License Expiry

When a timed license expires, you will no longer be able to create new projects or make edits. You can still access and export your existing data. The Perpetual License does not expire.

7. Your Data

All data you create in FilmBase is stored locally on your device. You own your data completely. We do not access, collect, or store any of your project data. You are responsible for backing up your own files.

8. Updates

Timed licenses include updates for the duration of the license. The Perpetual License includes 2 years of updates from the date of purchase. After the update period, the software continues to work but will not receive new features unless you purchase an update extension.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

FilmBase is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for any data loss, damages, or other issues arising from the use of the software.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising from the use of FilmBase shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of FilmBase after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
