FilmBase is an offline-first desktop application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Your Project Data

All project data — scripts, budgets, schedules, cast & crew information, storyboards, and any other content you create — is stored locally on your device. We never collect, access, transmit, or store your project data on any server.

License Activation

When you activate your license, your license key and a unique device identifier are sent to our licensing server to verify your purchase and bind the license to your machine. No personal data beyond what is required for activation is transmitted.

Purchase Information

Payments are processed by Polar.sh, our payment provider. They collect your name, email address, and payment details to process your purchase and deliver your license key. We receive your name and email for customer support purposes but never see or store your payment card details.

How We Use Your Data

  • To verify and activate your software license
  • To provide customer support when you contact us
  • To send important product updates or security notices (you can opt out)

What We Don't Do

  • We do not collect analytics or telemetry from the application
  • We do not track your usage of the software
  • We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties
  • We do not upload your project files or data to any cloud service

Data Retention

We retain your email address and license information for as long as your license is active, plus a reasonable period after expiry for support purposes. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
